Listings Help

What listings are

Listings are your inventory ads on partsgold.com. They include information such as year, make, model, trim, and part. The Gold Ticket client can download your listings so you can browse them, link to them in messages, edit them, or delete them without opening a browser.

Uploading New Listings

New listings are created on the website under your account. After a listing is published, the Gold Ticket client can download it when you refresh your listings.

To upload a new listing

  1. Sign in to your account at partsgold.com.
  2. Add the listing with the year, make, model, trim, part, title, description, photos, price, and other details.
  3. Publish the listing.
  4. Open the Gold Ticket client and go to Tools > My Listings.
  5. Click Refresh. Your new listing will appear in the grid and be saved to the local database.
Tip: Fill in Year, Make, and Model carefully. These fields help other members find your parts.
  • Keep the title short and descriptive.
  • Use the Part field for the specific part, such as engine, transmission, ECM, front bumper, or door.
  • Photos and pricing are managed on the website only.
  • Use Refresh after adding or editing listings so the local copy stays updated.

Editing a Listing

The Edit window lets you change the descriptive fields of a listing without leaving the app.

Fields you can edit

  • Year, Make, Model — required
  • Trim, Part — recommended because they help with searching
  • Title — what other members see
  • Content — full description, including multiple lines if needed

Click Save to send changes to partsgold.com and update the local copy. Click Cancel or press Esc to close without saving.

Photos, price, and category are not edited in the client. Make those changes on the website.

Inserting a Listing Into a Message

When composing or replying to a message, you can insert a clickable link to one of your listings using the Find Listing picker.

How it works

  1. In the Send window, open the Insert Listing picker.
  2. Type any combination of Year, Make, Model, or Part and press Enter, or click Search.
  3. Leave all fields blank and click Search to see every listing.
  4. Select a row and click Insert Link, or double-click the row.
  5. The picker inserts a description and clickable URL into the message body.

Example inserted message link

2015 Ford F-150 - front bumper
https://partsgold.com/?p=12345
The picker searches your local copy of listings. If you just added a listing on the website, open My Listings and click Refresh first.

Deleting a Listing

  • Select the listing in My Listings.
  • Click Delete or press the Delete key.
  • Confirm the prompt.
  • The listing is removed from both the website and your local database.
Important: Deleted listings cannot be recovered from the client. If you need the listing again, you must recreate it on partsgold.com.

Listings Troubleshooting

No response from server / Failed to fetch listings

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Confirm your member code in Options is correct.
  • Try Refresh again in a moment. The website may be busy.

Listing is not showing in the picker

  • Open My Listings and click Refresh.
  • The picker uses the local database, which only updates when you refresh.

Edit saved but the grid still shows old values

  • Click Refresh to pull the latest copy from the server.

Message Archive Help

What it is

The Message Archive shows older messages stored on the server, not just messages saved on your local PC. Use it to look up past traffic, find a message that may have been deleted locally, or print a record of conversations.

How to Use the Archive

  1. Pick a starting date in the Since box.
  2. The archive will return every message sent or received from that date forward.
  3. Click Fetch Archive.
  4. The messages are downloaded from the server and displayed in the viewer.
  5. The header bar shows your user code, the start date, and the total number of messages found.
Pick the oldest date you care about. It is usually better to fetch a wider range first, then search inside the results.

Searching Archive Messages

Use the Search messages box to filter archive results.

  • Type any text and press Enter, or click Search.
  • The search checks the From, To, date, and body of every message.
  • The status line shows how many messages match your search.
  • Click Clear to show every message again.

Example status message

Showing 4 of 132 messages matching "engine"

Printing Archive Messages

After the archive has loaded, click the Print button at the top of the window. Your browser print dialog will open so you can print, save to PDF, or change page setup.

  • The on-screen search bar is hidden automatically on the printed copy.
  • Hidden or filtered-out messages are not printed.
  • Search first, then print, if you only want to print specific messages.

Archive Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Press Esc at any time to close the Archive window.
  • Use a wide date range first, then search inside the loaded messages.
  • If the archive does not load, check your internet connection and try again.
WebView2 error: If you see “Unable to initialize the embedded browser (WebView2),” install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime and re-open the window.
